Winter Wonderland in the Woodlands

If you live in the Woodlands and are looking for a way to celebrate the holidays, look no further! There are several events happening through the month of December.

First off is the Ice Rink in the Woodlands! It will be running from November 22nd to January 19th. Skating sessions run for two hours and it costs $9.50 for general admission. You can also look into private skating lessons if you’re shaky in your skates! It’s a great way to get into the holiday spirit this year.

The Woodland’s beloved Market Street is having the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony! The gorgeous 70-foot Christmas tree will be lit for the entire Christmas season, so when you’re shopping through Market Street, make sure to take a picture with this sight!


One of the more well-known events in the Woodlands is the iWoW, the international Winter on the Waterway! You can enjoy this celebration full of an intercultural exchange. If you attend this event, you can see how cultures from across the globe celebrate Christmas. Have you ever wondered what “Silent Night” sounds like played by bagpipes, or what songs German carolers sing? You can find out how at the international Winter on the Waterway! There are three different stages with different performers on each, guaranteeing a great experience. This is all happening tomorrow, November 21st, so make sure to see this amazing festival!

The oldest holiday tradition in the Woodlands (this is its 33rd year) is the Lighting of the Doves! This includes fireworks, ice carvers, activities for the kiddos, and a visit from Santa! This festival is in conjunction with Winter on the Waterway, so you can get your Christmas fix all at once! It is November 21st from 3pm-9pm. There are food and beverages galore, so join your neighbors and family for a lovely, holiday evening!
