TROUBLE WITH A CAPITOL “P”

PILIKIA: We don’t make the rules, but we’d like to declare the last weekend of May as the unofficial start of tiki season. It’s that magical time of year when the weather is perfect enough to rock that Hawaiian shirt, stick an umbrella in your drink and dream of your toes in the sand. OK, so it isn’t an actual season. But for those of us who get that end of May island fever, it’s a very real state of mind. That’s why we fell in love with the man-made paradise that is Pilikia on Ross Avenue.

Pilikia, which means “trouble” in Hawaiian, is the antidote for your vacation blues. We decided to send our Dallas Fixers out to dive into its ocean of inventive tiki-themed libations and regale you with tales of Sharks Teeth cocktails and Mai Tais dreams. It’s not exactly the beach, but it should put a smile on your face. We hope everyone enjoyed a safe Memorial Day weekend in this beautiful country we get to be free in.
