Jingle Bells, Tamales, and Tunnels

You will not want to miss out on this weekend’s activities in Dallas! Starting at the Bishop Arts District with Jingle Bells on Bishop, come out with your family and friends to these awesome events!

Jingle Bells on Bishop is the same premise as the Bishop Arts’ infamous Wine Walks. You can buy a glass of wine that you keep for the night and tour different stores and restaurants–only this time, Santa Claus will make an appearance, and you can get free wine glasses by signing up you and your friends for caroling! Make a night of this beautiful occasion; drink some wine, listen to holiday music, and buy some Christmas presents while you’re at it! Goes Dec. 4th-Dec 5th

This Saturday at the beloved Dallas Farmer’s Market, there will be a special annual event–the DFW Tamale Festival and Christmas Market! This seasonal happening guaranteed to live you full and satisfied is returning this weekend, December 5th, 8am-6pm. Join the Farmer’s Market as locals celebrate the artistry of tamale-making and its communal unity. There will be several tamale vendors, carolers, and a place for the kiddos! At the same time, the 98.7 KLUV Christmas Market is hosting vendors to purchase some artisan goods for your loved ones this season. While munching on a tamale, you can get your pictures taken with Santa Claus and get some Christmas shopping done! What says “Feliz Navidad” more than that?

After all of those tamales, walk off those calories and check out this free tour through Dallas’ tunnels! The Dallas Underground Culture is once again hosting a tour of Dallas’ pedestrian tunnel, a “collection of tunnel and skywalk segments connecting the heart of Dallas.” It encircles about 36 city blocks! Dallas Underground Culture aspires to create a new culture in downtown Dallas–one that encourages walking and biking and using the DART system. So you can walk through (it takes about 3 hours in total) the tunnels of Dallas with family and friends. This FREE event is Saturday, December 11th, so mark your calendars!
