Beets, Berries, and Brews

There is plenty to consume in Dallas this weekend! Whether you’re of the beer persuasion or fruits and vegetables, the city can provide.

The first event is the 20th Annual Hoedown at the Dallas Farmer’s Market! It will take place October 14th, 6:30pm-9:30pm. In addition to the regular weekend farmer’s market, the Hoedown features “local wineries, artisans, chefs, and more” says D Magazine! There will also be live music throughout the day and guests can participate in silent auctions, all proceeds which will benefit the Dallas Farmers Market Friends and their projects. So, come get buy some local fruits and celebrate the Dallas Farmers Market!

The next upcoming event is the Texas Veggie Fair! It is scheduled to begin Saturday, October 17th at 11am, so mark your calendars! The Veggie Fair will take place in Reverchon Park and it is an awesome opportunity to connect with your community AND snack on some awesome food. There will be vendors, activities for children, live music, and even yoga! Whole Foods Market is hosting a Chef Demo. Entry is free into the Veggie Fair, but donations are encouraged. There are several vendors and sponsors such as: Holy Kombucha, Mercy For Animals, Reverie Bakeshop, Spinal Diner, and Unfruitgetable Smoothies among several others! There will also be clothing and accessories that are cruelty-free. Celebrate good ol’ veggies October 17th!

After hitting up the Texas Veggie Fair, make your way over to the Texas Craft Beer Festival at the Cotton Bowl! It is also on October 17th, noon-10pm. In honor of the closing weekend of the State Fair of Texas, this festival is highlighting some of the best local breweries in Dallas. There are going to be more than SEVENTY Texas breweries at this festival!

There are obviously some phenomenal events going on this weekend, so work hard to pick one! I know I can’t decide.
