Your guide to Mother’s Day in Dallas

Mother’s Day is going to be here before you know it, so you better start thinking about the best way to celebrate Mom. Here are some unique ways to show her you care.

For the athletic Mom, how about the Run Like A Mother 5K? This family-friendly event ends with a post-race party, featuring food, refreshment and activities for your entire crew. This run takes off from the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center in Frisco.

If your mom is more traditional, how about a luxe Mother’s Day brunch at the Ritz-Carlton? Fearing’s Restaurant is offering a spectacular spread Sunday, May 11, from 11:15AM to 3PM. Each mom not only gets a palate-pleasing meal, they also receive a Ritz-Carlton spa gift.

If you have a sentimental mom, what could mean more than a family snapshot? Thomas Garza Photography offers a timeless way to say “I love you,” with creative portraits of all the kids or a candid photo including Mom. All you need is a frame and a smile.

If your mother appreciates good music and likes to be in the center of the the action, then take that special lady to the Mother’s Day Jazz Brunch at the AT&T Performing Arts Center. From 11AM to 1PM, enjoy a free concert featuring Joseph Vincelli and the Marcus Rockwell Trio. Dine on delicious food and refreshments provided by Wolfgang Puck. Or you’re welcome to pack a picnic with all Mom’s favorites.

Or maybe a trip back in time is just the ticket. The 41st annual Swiss Avenue Historic District Mother’s Day Home Tour features eight of the most gorgeous historical homes in Dallas. It’s a weekend-long event, including an auto exhibit, a children’s play area, live music and a Mother’s Day brunch.

However you choose to spend Mother’s Day, just remember there are three tiny words that will mean the most: I love you.
