Season packages now available for Lutcher Theater’s Red Hot 2013-14 season

Orange County’s Lutcher Theater has just made packages available for the 2013-2014 season, entitled Red Hot. The line-up of shows coming to the Lutcher stage features a wide range of Broadway classics, musical acts and dance.

Jim Clark, managing director of the Lutcher Theater, spoke to local news source The Orange County Leader about the upcoming season and the inspiration for its name.

“We name every season at the Lutcher Theater and the fact we have some real music events we would brand as rock music is what led us to call it ‘Red Hot.’ Several of these events date back to the 1950s, so that is where we were going with that theme. It’s a term that was used back then to describe rock music,” Clark told the source.

Broadway acts like Memphis the Musical and Million Dollar Quartet, both inspired heavily by Rock ‘n Roll of the era Clark talks about, are just two of the “red hot” shows patrons can look forward to. Also coming to the stage are Broadway hits like Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, which starts in October, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas the Musical in November and Hello, Dolly! starring Sally Struthers next March.

Musical acts include shows by legendary jazz musician Aaron Neville and the Australian Opera sensations, the Ten Tenors.

Various available packages allow patrons to choose which and how many shows they want to see. “You can really make it affordable to do what you want by purchasing a package. It’s a great way to guarantee your seats and shows at all once,” Clark added.
