If you want to live with history you should take a look at the Davis Building. The first part of the Davis Building, a Dallas landmark was built in 1926 as the headquarters for the Republic National Bank. The building was doubled in size in 1931 to become what was then the biggest office building in Texas in 1931. The structure’s name was changed to the Davis Building in 1954 when the Republic National Bank moved to a new location. The Davis Building is named for Walt Davis the long time chairman of the Republic National Bank. The Davis Building sat empty for many years in the 1980s and 1990s but did serve as one of the locations for the 1991 movie Touch and Die starring Martin Sheen.
Residents at the Davis Building get a lot more than history the lofts feature individualized floor plans, historic terrazzo tiles, oversized bathtubs, large walk in closets, granite walk in showers, granite vanities and large pantries with ample storage. Tenants are also treated to spectacular views of downtown Dallas and exposed concrete ceilings with ductworks. You don’t have to go out for dinner and wine when you live at the Davis, retail tenants include Clear Ultra Lounge and Swirl Dallas’s Downtown wine gallery. Another advantage to living at the Davis Building is a connection to Dallas’s downtown tunnel network which lets you walk to retail and office buildings without crossing the street. Amenities at the Davis include a rooftop pool, a dramatic boutique lobby, a rooftop garden with a cabana lounge, and a fully equipped fitness facility.
